The Scan&Go Trolley: A Game-Changing Solution
Woolworths has launched a smart shopping trolley in Australia, known as Scan&Go Trolley, that allows customers to control their budget by tracking their spend in real time on the device screen and saving time by scanning and bagging as they go.
The Scan&Go Trolley system utilizes a Hanshow Smart Cart tablet that can be attached to an existing Woolworths shopping trolley. The tablet is equipped with a retractable barcode scanner, NFC-enabled payment capabilities and intelligent sensors to enable future capabilities such as way finding. The device integrates seamlessly with Woolworths’ Scan&Go platform. The system is currently being trialed in 10 Woolworths supermarkets.
How it works:
- Unlock a device: Scan your Everyday Rewards
- Loyalty card to unlock a device and pop it on your trolley.
- Scan your items: Scan your items using the built-in scanner, and pack your groceries as you go.
- Pay and go: Once you’re ready to check out, head to the self-serve checkout area to pay for your shop on the device or a self-serve checkout.
