Information

Technology is best when it brings people together, and this couldn’t be truer than for Hanshow and KFP. We decided to ask about the origins of these collaborations and the future plans from Wendell Herts at KFP.

Could you introduce yourself and your company?

I am Wendell Herts, a Business Development Manager at KFP Total IT Solutions, responsible for West Europe. Our headquarters are located in Oxford, and we have other locations in Dublin and Wales. For more than 20 years we have provided in-store retail IT systems, services, solutions, project management, and support platforms for some of the biggest brands in the haute couture & hospitality sectors.

Our mindset is to work with the best technology and deliver the best service and support for all our customers. We stand for:

       K – Knowledgeable

       F – Focused

       P – Professional

How did you get to know Hanshow?

I worked with Hanshow before, and when I started to work at KFP, I still had their contact. We were very curious at KFP about what our companies could do together. Then, after we had a fly over to London to discuss the matters, we started our cooperation, which has been going on already for 3 months.

What do you think about the AI potential in retail? In which aspect of store management AI is needed the most?

I believe that all stores eventually will get down to optimization, so AI must combine functions like loss & prevention, self-scan kiosk, and inventory management for the best results.

What would you recommend to those planning to digitalize their stores? What factors should they consider?

Electronic shelf labels allow you to communicate with your customers on a whole new level:

- Display when the item is out of stock.

- Change your in-store prices in accordance with the online prices, so customers know they can trust you when you offer the lowest price guarantee.

For those who consider ESL, I recommend considering such factors as FTE, price changes in a week, and the communication way. I’d say start with Nebular ESL first and then expand with the digital signage, and then the kiosk.

If you ask me, Hanshow’s name will be dominating within two years in the UK.

From what I've seen in the UK, the ESL will be very much in demand within the next two years. A lot of retailers are looking up the current offers.

What makes Hanshow so different from other ESL providers in the region?

If you research the market, you will see that Hanshow’s products are more durable, and their lifespan is much longer than any other model. You have to also account for the user-friendliness during installations.

What you want is the offline experience, consistent with the online experience. So Hanshow is very good for quick price updates, and in terms of the infrastructure and easiness of system integration. It also allows for various ESL application scenarios.

Within the field of sustainability, Hanshow has been a perfect fit for us, too. Other competitors have a good product, but they are not there yet.

ESL is standalone that you can easily integrate into your existing environment without breaking things. That’s a benefit for every supermarket, DIY store, or pharmacy.

What was your first experience with the installation of Hanshow software? What lessons did you draw from that time?

Keep it simple. If you scope out to work step by step on what you need to do, you will get a successful rollout and a well-functioning project. If you do that too fast, then you risk missing some critical aspects. What I found surprising with the products and with the agile technology, is that everything has already been figured out, so you can just plug in and play.

Why would you recommend Hanshow as a partner/ESL provider?

Hanshow’s openness and willingness to drive the business make it unique.

What surprised me during our collaboration is that Hanshow does not only provide a SaaS solution, but also has multiple use cases. The technical support has been helpful, too. I would strongly recommend everyone to work with Hanshow.

My customers leave very positive reviews about Hanshow, and promote it within their network.
